A Shining Star

Sarah was honored as an Outstanding Beginning Teacher of the Year at the Night of the Stars ceremony on Feb. 27. The award is designed to recognize exceptional performance of educators during their first year of teaching. Sarah was nominated by the teachers at her school, St. Lucie Elementary. As a 3rd grade teacher - Sarah inspires, stimulates, and encourages each child every day! Here she is, at home, before the ceremony.

Sarah's 3rd and 4th grade teacher, Lorraine Bernard, was honored as Rivers Edge Elementary's Teacher of the Year. How cool is that! Student and teacher both being honored the same year!
Sarah's best friend, Christy, attended the ceremony with us. Christy is a frequent visitor to Sarah's classroom often arriving with goodies for the kids. The students in Sarah's class think they look like sisters!

Chris, Sarah, Jimmy, and I at Yellow Tail Restaurant after the ceremony. 3 cheers for our Teacher of the Year!

A beautiful boating day

Thanks to my dad, we are now owners of a 19 ft. SeaFox boat. Lee and Jimmy cruise the waterways every chance they get. They like to put the boat in at Shepards Park and fish the St. Lucie River. Once the wind and waves calm down they will go out into the ocean. We haven't named the boat yet but my suggestion is "Wheels Up". That was what my dad always said when it was time to go somewhere!

Captain Lee does a radio check! Everything Lee knows about boating he learned from his Uncle John.

Lee and his buddy Joe enjoy a rare warm sunny day in February.

Jimmy is having fun in the sun!

The big announcement

Everyone at school knows that I am going to be a grandmother again because of the poster outside my classroom door. I thought this was the best way to announce it without running around telling everyone. The 4th and 5th grade students in our hallway always have something to say when they walk by my door. Mostly they stop, read it, smile, and say CONGRATULATIONS GRANDMA!

Proud Grandma showing off the poster. It says: Ana Maria has a secret. Guess what? Mrs. Ramsey is going to be a grandmother again!

My best buddies at school Peggy and Lorraine clowning around. They are both grandmas and know exactly how excited I am!
