Sarah and I left for Germany on June 14. We drove to Fort Myers and flew AirBerlin to Dusseldorf. It was a 10 hour flight. We watched 3 movies, ate 2 meals, and slept a bit. My sister, Cindy, and brother in law, Clemens met us at the airport. Clemens' advice to us to avoid jet lag was to stay awake and go to bed around 10:00 that night. We enjoyed a walk to and around Cindy's village of Ratingen. The weather was beautiful! Here's Sarah waiting to board the plane.

June 15 we took the public transportation into the city of Dusseldorf. Everyone rides the subway! It's the best way to get around.

The markets are full of meats, cheeses, breads, olives, and flowers. The flowers are gorgeous!

We walked along the Rhine River. Notice the clock tower in the background. Many buildings and churches rise up into the air.

Sarah and Aunt Cindy enjoying a midday coffee break. Cindy introduced us to Latte Machiatos. Mmmmmm good!
